Frequently asked questions
There are many pathways where you can meet the entry requirements for our courses:
- Complete one of our enabling courses, designed to support students from all different learning backgrounds, or
- Apply via our new experienced based entry pathway for a wide range of courses with a selection rank of 70, or via the Media Portfolio Pathway for creative courses,
- Use a VET qualification of a Cert IV or higher, or
- Successfully complete two units from any discipline with Open Universities Australia.
To apply via TISC you must be registered with ‘TISCOnline’. This allows you to then login and lodge an application to Murdoch University.
HECS-HELP is a government loan scheme, which is available to Australian citizens, that allows you to defer the payment of your degree. It means the government covers the initial cost of your course.
You will start to pay back your loan, through the taxation system, when you are working full-time and earning over a given threshold set by the Australian Taxation Office.
If you have completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia, you will meet the English entry requirements for most of our undergraduate degrees.
Alternatively, if you haven’t undertaken both Year 11 and 12 in Australia, you can use a scaled mark of 50 or more from English ATAR, Literature ATAR or EALD ATAR.
Please keep in mind that the Bachelor of Nursing has additional English criteria set by AHPRA so it would be best to contact us for more information on these specifics.
No! There are no prerequisite subjects you need to complete to be considered for your course, all the content will be taught to you throughout your studies.
There are ATAR subjects we recommend as it provides you with helpful background knowledge for your chosen course. For example, studying Human Biology ATAR will be useful for the Bachelor of Nursing.
