As a Murdoch University student, you can get involved in campus life, have fun and make lifelong friends through our range of facilities, services and events.
Student life
There’s more to being a student than attending lectures and tutorials. When you first arrive at Murdoch, you’ll attend our orientation sessions to help you find your way around campus.
Our Library is the education hub of the campus, and is the perfect space for quiet study or a collaboration session with your classmates. The Library also offers a 24/7 Learning Common, giving students access to computers, printers, Wi-Fi and study areas around the clock. The Guild Kiosk in the Library is where you can access information and services, purchase SmartRiders and event tickets, and join the Guild if you're not already a member.
In addition to your essential textbooks, The Store stocks stationery, lab coats, technical equipment and general merchandise.
Food, coffee and more
Whether you’re looking for a light snack or a hearty meal, you’ll find plenty of options at Murdoch. We’ve got cafes and food outlets offering food and drinks from a variety of cuisines. The Guild-run Café Kadjininy in the library offers a discount to Guild members.
Meet friends at Bush Court or the Tavern
Bush Court is the heart of campus, and is where most of our student events take place. Every Thursday The Guild hosts MarketDaze, where you can enjoy a snack from a food truck or grab a bargain from one of the many stalls. Other events on Bush Court include Multi-Cultural Day, Clubs and Societies Day and Stamp Out Stress Day.
If you’re over 18, the Murdoch Guild Tavern is the perfect place to unwind and relax with a game of pool or a drink with friends in the beer garden. There are regular events including open mic nights, karaoke and quiz nights.
Get involved
The Guild is an independent organisation run by students, for students, and offers advocacy, support and service. You have the option to join the Guild for free when you enrol as a Murdoch student.
You can be part of events throughout the year including Festival Day, Stamp Out Stress Day and The Guild Ball. The Guild also supports more than 100 different clubs and societies for students to join.
If you want to engage with the community, the Guild's Volunteer Hub can help you find a great volunteer experience so you can learn new skills, meet new people and add value to your degree.
Stay fit and healthy
Exercise is a great way to beat stress, meet new people and have fun. Our Sports and Recreation Centre offers a fully-equipped fitness centre with very reasonably priced memberships available to students. If you prefer team sports, you can join a social sports team or become a part of a Murdoch sports club.
