Your future learning experience

We do things differently at Murdoch. A great education is not just about information in textbooks. It’s about feeling, seeing, and experiencing your studies, which is why we are changing the way you learn with our new teaching building – Boola Katitjin, opening in Semester 1, 2023.

Boola Katitjin – designed with students at its heart – will enhance your study experience and provide you with a fresh space to learn, collaborate and socialise.

Up to 60% of classes will be taught in the new building, so chances are you will be studying there too – and we think it might just become your favourite spot to study, do group assignments and hang with friends on campus!

How Boola Katitjin will enhance your uni experience

Boola Katitjin combines modern, sustainable design and digital technology to bring you the best possible student experience. Students in 2023 will be the first to experience and benefit from the future of learning right here at Murdoch.

With a fresh space on campus and gorgeous native gardens, Boola Katitjin will provide improved connectivity to the rest of the University and Bush Court – the heart of Murdoch.

About the project

Boola Katitjin is set to become the new heart of Murdoch University’s South Street, Perth campus. It will provide a technology-rich educational experience, providing students with a place to learn, connect and belong, along with flexible workspaces where all staff can meet, work, and engage with students and industry alike. When complete, the building will be the largest mass engineered timber construction in WA. The project is a major step towards driving the future growth in line with the University’s 2017-2022 Strategic Plan and reflects one of the University’s core founding principles – sustainability.
