Senate
The Senate is the governing body of Murdoch University, promoting high performance through fairness, transparency and accountability across the University.
Senior Leadership Team
Murdoch is led by a Vice Chancellor and a group of senior leaders who are responsible for the strategic management and development of all aspects of University business.
Academic Council and Committees
The Academic Council is the principal academic body at Murdoch and makes the final decision on academic policy.

Our Annual Report is prepared each year in accordance with the provisions of the Financial Management Act 2006.

University legislation
Murdoch University was established in 1976 under the provisions of the Murdoch University Act 1973 (The Act). The Act makes provision for a body corporate in perpetual succession and defines the functions and constitution of the University.
The Act also makes provision for Murdoch University By-Laws, Statutes and regulations.
All subsidiary legislation for the University is available in the University’s policy management system, Policy and Procedure Manager (PPM). The PPM includes the By-Laws, Statutes, Regulations, Rules, Policies, Procedures, Guidelines and Standards.
