Purpose

The document link widget is designed to provide a clear, accessible and informative link to documents that users of your site may need to download.

When to use

Use on any pages where a document link is a key part of the information provided and is required to stand out from a block of text.

How to use

Note: where approriate, links to document can also be provided as standard links within content blocks. For a list of documents it may be better to use the Document list widget.

 

Add to a page

  1. The Document link widget can be found in the Content section of the widgets toolbox.
  2. Click and drag onto any editable area of the page and then follow the instructions for editing.

Edit

  1. Click the  Edit icon at the top right of the widget;
  2. The Document link widget will open in edit mode and indicate which document is currently being displayed;
    1. To display a different document select Change document and select or upload an alternative document;
    2. To change the title for the existing document select Edit all properties and edit the title in the window that opens up;
  3. Save and preview your changes.

Delete

  1. Click More at the top right of the widget
  2. Select  Delete
