Financial support can help overcome barriers and make it possible for talented students to achieve their potential and contribute to the Australian community. At Murdoch University we are proud to provide a strong system of support to our diverse student population.

Our scholarships and prizes reward outstanding achievement whether academic or through personal commitment to the community. Over $2.5 million in competitive scholarships are awarded every year and provide assistance to students experiencing adversity and empower them to realise their academic and career goals.

Leading businesses, community-minded groups and individuals support prizes to help inspire our students to achieve their academic goals. Prizes can be awarded to students within any discipline and at any year level, with prize conditions established in consultation with academic staff.

The George Alexander Foundation scholarship

The George Alexander Foundation (GAF) scholarship for high-achieving regional students opens up a world of opportunity for Murdoch University undergraduates to enhance their studies at national and international training programs.

Each year GAF awards six scholarships worth up to $24,000 over a three-year degree to students needing to relocate from regional or remote areas to study at Murdoch.

GAF recipients have used the scholarship to enrich their education and training, putting the funds usually allocated to basic expenses towards invaluable real-world work experience opportunities.

Banksia Association Honours Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Banksia Association members in late 2007 to encourage the highest achieving students to continue their education at Murdoch University by providing them with financial assistance during their Honours year.
